GET A QUOTEIs Your Building Compliant?
Vancouver Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) is actively auditing residential buildings in the West End, Kitsilano, and Downtown. If your Fire Safety Plan is older than 12 months, or if you have changed property management companies, you may be non-compliant.
A rejected plan isn't just a paperwork issue—it puts your insurance coverage at risk. We specialize in drafting plans that meet the strict standards of VFRS for multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs).

Residential Safety FAQs
Do we need to train all the residents?
No, you do not need to hold a seminar for every tenant. However, you must provide written "Fire Safety Instructions" to every resident annually. Our plan includes these distribution-ready documents.
Who should be in charge of fire safety?
In most residential buildings, the "Fire Safety Director" is the building manager, caretaker, or a designated member of the Building Council. We provide the required training for whoever takes on this role.
Do you need access to individual suites?
Generally, no. We need access to common areas, the roof, mechanical rooms, and the parkade. We only need to enter a suite if it has a unique layout feature critical to the fire plan (rare).
Why do I need a plan for my rental property?
It is a legal requirement for buildings with fire alarm systems. Having an approved plan also reduces your liability as a landlord and ensures your insurance policy remains valid in case of an incident.
